Program

4 Pillars of STAND Mentoring

1. Entrepreneurship/Business Management

We offer in-depth training and seminars focusing on Financial Literacy and Business Management. Training topics include Passive Income strategies, Budgeting, Investments, and Credit 101. We believe that Financial Literacy is vital and can be taught across age levels. Financially literate individuals have the tools and resources to avoid financial loss and attain financial goals that would otherwise be impossible.

2. Overall Health

During the transition from childhood to adulthood, adolescents establish behavior patterns and make lifestyle choices that affect their physical health. We focus on empowering others to make smart decisions concerning their health.
Overall Health as a pillar also focuses on Wellness. Wellness is a holistic integration of physical, mental, and spiritual well-being, fueling the body, engaging the mind, and nurturing the spirit.

3. Life Skills

STAND seeks to teach those who have the desire to better themselves. We focus on enhancing their skill base through training and soft skills development necessary to be self-sufficient and thrive. This strategic approach aims to make each program participant marketable in the job market. Alternatively, individuals can be positioned to start and operate their own business. Therefore, be on a pathway to success. STANDC offers a host of services including entrepreneurship training; job readiness; and mentoring. We offer staggered class schedules, six days a week. STAND Volunteers are dedicated to assisting to meet the unique needs of our target population of race, color, national, or ethnic origin, to improve their quality of life and ultimately, the community at large. 4. Trades & Innovation

Innovation is defined as the process of bringing about new ideas, methods, products, services, or solutions that have a significant positive impact and value. Our organization believes that people are not born innovative; instead, individuals develop the ability to enhance and be developed. Innovation is often a matter of how a person adapts to different situations what they learn and the ability to apply. That can be taught and learned in a vocational trade school environment.

A vocational school, trade school, or technical school is a type of educational program that is designed to provide the technical skills required to complete the tasks of a particular job. We have a network of trained and dedicated mentors and volunteers available (Extensive Background checks and volunteer Training). We have professionals available to teach different trades including Plumbing, Electrician Services, Carpentry, Coppersmith, Barber Services, Commercial driver, and HVAC Technician.

STAND Volunteers and Mentors will review proper interviewing techniques; how to complete job applications and resume preparation; telephone etiquette; and effective communication skills in the workplace. Additional courses will include: Discovering Your Gifts and Talents; Time Management; Self-Image, and Stress Management.
